Biography
Roger Ray Walker left this earth for his heavenly home after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 14, 2009. His strong faith helped him face his battle.
Roger was born on January 3, 1946 as the only child of Ray and Lucille (Moore) Walker in Brady, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy McInnis Walker of 33 years. He met his best friend and love of his life in San Angelo in 1974. They were married on September 8, 1975. His pride and joy were his three children and the grandchildren they had given him: a daughter, Kista Stahl and husband Steve of Mansfield, sons J.T. and wife Kate of Garland, and son Matt and wife Camie of Taylor. Four grandchildren: Brenner and Bryce Stahl of Mansfield, Cade Walker of Taylor, and Addison Walker of Garland.
Roger spent his youth in Llano. After graduating from Angelo State University, he enjoyed his 39 years in education in Fredericksburg, San Angelo, Eden, and Santa Anna as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. He will be remembered for his love of learning and teaching.
He is also survived by two aunts: Pauline Hasse of Mason and Earlene Turner of Austin.
Brothers-in-law: Mike McInnis and wife Barbara of Waco, Jay McInnis and wife Robbie of Austin, and Jim Whiteley and Patsy. He is also survived by four nephews and numerous cousins.
